Mountain Sweet-Cicely is a perennial that has a taproot. It is a member of the Carrot family. Its sweet tasting taproot is a reputed aphrodisiac. The flowers are tiny and white, organized in loose umbrels. It is found in open forests, along glades and on forest edges. Photo by
